Welcome to the VSRC's web site!

Since 1979, the VSRC has provided the residents of Valley Stream and it's neighboring communities an opportunity to learn about, participate in and enjoy a leisure activity that benefits the mind as well as the body. No matter what your ability, whether you're a runner, jogger or walker, fast or slow, novice or veteran, join us to improve your fitness and have some fun.

Group Runs

The best way to know if joining our running club is for you is to join us for a run, meet our runners and ask questions. Posted below is our current schedule. You can contact one of our group leaders by email for more information or just show up and introduce yourself. You will find us friendly and encouraging in your running goals.

Daily Weekday Runs

This group meets in the pool parking lot at Hendrickson Park(East End) at 5:00 AM

Saturday Run

The current meeting time is 7:30 AM by the Chester Street entrance of Hendrickson Park (near the bridge). That's on the east side of the park. There are usually 3 or 4 of us. If the weather is too bad, we might not be out there, but we do run in snow and light rain.

Sunday Runs at Alley Pond Park
Group One

This group meets in the parking lot on Winchester Blvd. opposite Creedmoor at 7:30 AM.

Sunday Runs at Alley Pond Park
Group Two

This group meets in the pool parking lot at Hendrickson Park at 7:00 AM and drives up together. Usually the first group is the faster group.
